June fishing was good… really good! The Hooligan Stealthcraft was put to great use picking up some trophy smallies, big muskies, and an assortment of northern pike, walleyes, and other species. Scenery was great and the water has been awesome. The raft took us through Class 2-3 rapids and through all sorts of minor rapids.
It was a joy fishing with all of my clients the last few weeks. Below are a few that really stand out.
First we have Roger and Jon. Both of these fine fishermen had never caught a musky. We went out and fished all day in the rain - a tough condition to endure - and they ended the day with each of them catching a musky. The fish were slightly smaller than average but for a first fish they were excellent specimens. We had a great time fishing and learning the intricacies of musky fishing.
Another great trip was with Matt and Janice - these two excellent and worldly experienced anglers were a pleasure to get on the water. They had no problem finding fish to bite. We caught a handful of smallies and pike looking for some big bronzebacks. As you can see from the photos - we ended the day with some healthy smallmouth. These two great anglers taught me a lot about techniques that I do not usually use and really shared their vast fishing wisdom with me. Matt is a world renowned guide with experience in MANY different countries. Check him out at Wilderman Fishing Adventures.
Lastly I enjoyed taking out my dad to catch some fish on Fathers’ Day and taking out Kenny to make a very cool July 4th fishing special.
As always.
Catch.
Release.
Wander.
C'est la vie.
Pura vida.
Carpe diem.
