Before this year’s fishing season commenced I gave myself some very specific goals that I wanted to achieve for the 2018 season. The fishing season is coming to a close and I wanted to write a blog post highlighting the goals I met and those goals I want to meet for next year.
My goal for this year was to hit 1,000 subscribers on my Youtube channel and currently I am on track to hit that goal before the end of the year. I am excited for the opportunities that are to come.
When it comes to fishing I had one or two main goals - I wanted to catch MORE fish and FISH more. I ended up fishing every single day of the summer - making my goal complete. From the last day of school until the first day of school I went out and fished every day. I didn’t catch a fish every day, but I did wet a line and set myself up for a potential fish every day.
For Musky I caught 31 fish (and ended the year with 38 *editors note) - and I am still going strong, I hope to catch at least a few more. Definitely breaking the 30 mark was huge for me. I think next year I will shoot for 50 musky over the course of the summer.
I hope next year to continue fishing - and maybe break one specific goal - I want to catch a 21 inch plus river smallmouth. We will see. This year I caught a 20.5, maybe next year will be the year.
As always.
Catch.
Release.
Wander.
C'est la vie.
Pura vida.
Carpe diem.
