Ene Mene Mini Mo - catch a tiger by its toe.

Silly ditty aside - I caught a tiger musky by treble hooks to the mouth and not its toe or fin.

So, musky are extremely rare fish to catch, they are known to most people with their notorious nomer of "the fish of 10,000 casts" as many people fish the entire summer to catch one or two muskies.  If musky are rare, then tiger musky are ultra-rare.  Tiger musky is a hybrid form of musky where northern pike and musky share a redd (fish nest) and create a hybrid species.

In the last few years I have caught close to 50 musky with just 2 or 3 being tigers.  Most of the time I catch a musky I am not entirely sure if it's a specially colored fish or an actual tiger.  Today I can confidently say that this fish is a TIGER MUSKY.  There is no doubt about it.

The fish was small, but with a beautiful coloration.  It nailed a size 4 Mepps Agila spinner with a silver blade and brown hair skirt.  I was heading on vacation and needed to fish before driving downstate so I went and casted for 10 minutes.  This beaut sent me on my way in glorious fashion.
